Introducing Projects: Track an Outcome, Not Just the News

Know whether you're winning

Ask a government relations team if they're winning, and the honest answer is usually: I think so. Projects is built to change that. It turns an advocacy outcome into a living picture of who matters, where they stand, and how that's shifting.

Start with the outcome you want

Create a project with the goal you're working toward: pass the bill, stop the regulation, move the agency. Add your background notes and choose the topics and collections to watch. Page reads the bills, hearings, and news that match, and picks out who said what.

A state of play and a position map

Page drafts a state of play: where the file stands, what's changed, and why. Alongside it is a position map of everyone who can move the outcome. Each person is placed by their role, such as Decider, Gatekeeper, Influencer, or Voice, and given a read: Supportive, Opposed, or Undecided. Open any name to see the evidence behind it.

When something changes, Page catches it. The map, the brief, and the project's history all update.

Your intel, folded in

You know the room. If someone belongs somewhere else on the map, move them, or add someone Page hasn't found yet. Log an engagement, like a meeting, call, or submission, and Page weighs it alongside the public record. If someone's position has moved, the map moves with them. Where your intel and the record disagree, the brief says so and leaves the call to you.

Ask Wonk about your project

Wonk can answer questions about any project, like "who should we prioritize?", using its position map and evidence. Ask it to suggest next steps and, with your OK, it adds them to the project's action plan.

Once you have a few projects going, the Projects page shows them side by side, so you can see how each one is tracking.
